The 2020 COVID-19 medical supply chain crisis demonstrated the capacity for makers and open source approaches to help solve for emergency needs. Thousands of designs were created and tested for hundreds of supplies, and over 48 million items were manufactured and delivered by these non traditional manufacturers.
