Joan is an MIT alumna, recovering rocket scientist and educator. She is the co-founder of Nonscriptum LLC, a consulting firm which teaches people to use 3D printers and open-source electronics. She is the co-author (with Rich Cameron) of ten books on maker tech and additive manufacturing, a variety of LinkedIn Learning additive manufacturing courses, and curriculum projects. Their most recent book, "Make:Calculus," makes calculus more accessible to everyone by minimizing the use of algebra. Instead, concepts are developed initially with LEGO bricks and, later, with 3D prints.
